Description: William Van Muse served from 2001-2003 as the fifth chancellor of East Carolina University, and the ninth chief administrative officer of the school. Muse’s administration oversaw several additions to the main campus, including construction of the Science and Technology Building, an expansion of the Rivers Building, renovation of Flanagan Building, and construction of the West End Dining Hall. These projects had been funded by the N. C. higher education bond passed during the final years of the Eakin administration.
