Coon was a special agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence during World War II. The first is a letter from Thomas F. Coon to a librarian at East Carolina University detailing his donation of an article he wrote as an addition to his book on the history of the U.S.S. Waukesha which was donated to the university. The second item is a copy of the article mentioned in the letter titled The Waukesha, Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the Atomic Bomb by Thomas F. Coon detailing Coon's time aboard the ship.
