Description: Photographs of Barbara Brown taken at the Town Common, Greenville, N.C., accompanied by an oral history interview, for the Beyond Bricks and Mortar project. Brown was born on the corner of Reade and East First Street in 1941. She was a member of the Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She recalls attending the church's Sunday School, the morning worship service, and the Baptist Training Union (BTU) every Sunday. She lived in the downtown area until she went to college in 1958, and then moved back to Greenville. She mentions that she will forever remember the businesses in downtown, including the candy store owned by her aunt and uncle. Interviewer: Heather White.
