Description: Photographs of Darlyn Crandell, Linda Coleman, and Geraldine Dudley taken at the Town Common, Greenville, N.C., accompanied by an oral history interview, for the Beyond Bricks and Mortar project. The three women describe their childhood memories of downtown Greenville, and their experiences during and after redevelopment. Coleman remembers the community as feeling more like an extended family. The Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church was the center of their lives. The women recall participating in the church Sunshine Band Club and singing the Hallelujah Chorus on the Masonic Lodge steps. They also have fond memories of Eleanor Hagans, the playground supervisor. Interviewer: Heather White.
