Description: Postcard sent by Corporal John Pittman at Camp Polk, LA to E.C. Winslow in Tarboro, NC in July of 1944. Pittman writes of the the "hot as hell" weather and the desire to hear from Winslow and his family soon. The postcard's cartoon cover art features a mother attempting to take her young son into what she thinks is an outhouse, while the guard reminds her: "For the last time, lady- it ain't that kind of a house!"
