The Reach of Song was an outdoor drama written by playwright Tom DeTitta with music lyrics by Phillip DePoy. The liner on the tape reads "Playwright Tom DeTitta arranged these special interviews against selected songs of the drama and of the mountains; Friends and relatives of Byron Herbert Reece share their insights into the man they called 'Hub,' and offer intimate readings of the poetry that is featured . . . Cast members from the show tell the stores that helped shaped the scenes onstage." The tape was funded by the Georgie Department of Community Affairs.
