Title: Letter from Robert C. Caldwell to Mag Caldwell, January 12th, 1864
Identifier: 0845-b1-ff   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/497)
Description: Letter from Robert C. Caldwell to his wife Mag Caldwell. Robert is serving as a private in Company C., 10th Battalion, North Carolina Heavy Artillery based near Wilmington, N.C. In this letter he mentions having left Wilmington (possibly to Fort Caswell in Brunswick County). He writes about the bad food, but has recently received a box from Mag. Robert tells Mag he feels the war will not end until everyone repents of their sins. He sends many detailed instructions about chores to be done on the farm by the hired help.
