The correspondence was typed onto an article titled Burning Bright: An American Gran Opera by Frank Lewin from the Integrated Arts People magazine, vol. 2, no. 3, Spring/Summer 1994. The article details Lewin's new opera based on John Steinbeck's novella of the same name. Lewin notes in his correspondence to Scott that he has included a copy of sample of the opera on cassette.
