Description: Dr. Newsom Jones Pittman's journals from his travels and studies while in Europe. Begins 23 June 1851 when Pittman left his home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He traveled to New York City and on 1 July set sail for England. On 13 July, Pittman arrived in Liverpool, England. In the rest of the journal he writes about his time in England and then traveling to and explorations in Paris.
