Description: Preliminary reconstruction plan of the Confederate ironclad the CSS Neuse along with Partial listing of "Neuse" artifacts by W. E. Geoghegan and W. H. Rowland. Constructed at White Hall (now Seven Springs) and Kinston, North Carolina, the Neuse was eventually burned by retreating Confederate soldiers and sunk in the Neuse River without seeing battle. Recovery of the ironclad began in the 1960s. The Neuse was eventually raised and is preserved in CSS Neuse Civil War Interpretive Center in Kinston, N.C.
