Winborne Family Papers
Title: Winborne Family Papers
Identifier: 0396-b1-fa   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/35349)
Description: The Winborne Family Papers consists of two letters written by I. E. Leary from Salisbury, N.C., to his cousins, William and Mollie Winborne, in Harrellsville, N.C. Leary apparently was a member of the 68th North Carolina Regiment during the Civil War. The first of the two letters is dated 1864, but the second bears no date. The letters deal primarily with relaying news of the illness and subsequent death of a family member. Also of interest in this collection are a home remedy for deafness and an envelope addressed to Mrs. Mary Winborne with a Confederate stamp still attached.
