Description: The Meadows, a plantation on the Neuse River in Wayne County, North Carolina, was the home of Colonel John Thomas Kennedy (1824-1913). The drawing has the initials JMK and is dated 1895. It is believed to have been drawn by James Matthew Kennedy (1881-1948), noted North Carolina architect and grandson of Colonel John Thomas Kennedy.
