Identifier: 1250-s6-b390-fd   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/32865)
Description: Isaac Van Grove, music composer, and Paul Green, writer, at Pioneer Amphitheatre for a 1966 performance of Texas. The play depicts the struggle of pioneers in Texas during the 1800s. Calvin Armstrong represents the new Texas, the farmer, and dreams of a state populated more by people than cattle. Calvin is opposed by Colonel Henry, an old cattleman who has watched Texas grow and now cannot look to the future. The eventual collaboration between the two sides sparks a railroad, a new town, and prosperity for the pioneers. The 2015 season marks the 50th anniversary of Texas.
