The O'Neal Foundation was organized on June 9, 1949 in Greenville, N.C. as a result of the brutal murder of William Benjamin O'Neal. The citizens of the Greenville area, to show their sympathy to O'Neal's widow and children, organized to solicit funds to build them a new home. Published in the Daily Reflector.
