Description: Handwritten minutes from the East Carolina Teachers Training School Student Government Association (SGA) meetings dated November 8, 1920 to May 30, 1922. The minutes provide an image of college life at the time. The minutes note the members of the SGA, the individuals serving on various councils, the lack and variety of food in the dining hall, requested improvements of dorm parlors, the formation of new committees, and alumni privileges, among other issues. Also notable is the SGA's role as the student disciplinary body. Students were disciplined for stealing, skipping study hour, stealing, spreading false rumors, flirting from campus, meeting boys, and not returning to campus at appropriate times from shopping trips. The students were disciplined in various ways, including being confined to room, having off-campus privileges taken away, and being expelled. During this period, only female students lived on campus. In 1922, the school changed its name from East Carolina Teachers Training School to East Carolina Teachers College.
