Description: Letter from George Attmore Sparrow at the Hillsborough Military Academy to his father Thomas Sparrow. George tells his father that he has arrived safely at the Hillsborough Military Academy but is not very pleased with the school. George says the school only has about thirty boys and sends his father a copy of the school circular. George then says that he will deliver two letters on Saturday and asks his father how long he has to stay at the school. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
