Description: Letter from George Attmore Sparrow in Okaw, Illinois to his father Thomas Sparrow. George tells his father that Mr. H.C. Pindell arrived at their home yesterday looking for him. Mr. Pindell stayed all afternoon and took tea at Grandma’s house. George also says that his mother had a fit of colic and is unhappy that Thomas is going back. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
