Description: East Carolina University faculty member Dr. Margie Lee Gallagher standing in a the lab looking at a sample from her experiment. Gallagher researched more economical protein sources to replace fish meal in the diet of hybrid striped bass. Her research was funded by a two-year grant from a NOAA-sponsored NC Sea Grant program. Dr. Gallagher taught at ECU for 32 years from 1980-2012, first with the School of Human Environmental Sciences and later the College of Human Ecology.
