Description: This microscope is based on the original design of Ernst Gundlach, who sold his business to Seibert and Krafft before leaving for the United States. These microscopes were very highly regarded. Walther Flemming used a Seibert No. 4 with a second mirror added to illuminate above and below simultaneously for his studies of mitosis. Hans Christian Gram used this model to develop the Gram stain. Robert Koch used a Seibert microscope for photomicrography. The serial number is 6525.
