Description: Opaque objects could be illuminated with a bullseye lens or Lieberkuhn reflector for objectives with longer focal lengths. The vertical illuminator allows lighting through the objective and is the predecessor of epi illuminators. The vertical illuminator was manufactured during the early 20th Century.
