Description: The Popular Microscope was designed by Smith and Beck in 1862 for use by naturalists and to easily accommodate the Wenham binocular introduced the previous year by Ross. The base folds so the microscope fits into an easily portable box. There is a full set of accessories including: polarizer, analyzer, camera lucida, two darkfield condensors, a brightfield condensor, lieberkuhn reflector, live well, trough, stage forceps, and a captive moving, rotating stage. The serial number is 6859.
