Description: This is a Wenham binocular microscope. There is a small prism above the objective that diverts half of the beam. It is in a drawer, so that it can be removed, because Wenham prisms do not function well with higher power objectives. Wenham systems were never popular outside of Great Britain and the U.S. This style of base is called an English or Crouch foot. The serial number is 3189.
