Description: True prism binocular microscopes that functioned well with high power objectives were introduced by Leitz around 1915. This is an early American version. Spencer and their successor American Optical microscopes were favored by pathologists for over 50 years. Dr. Peyton Rous, who discovered cancer viruses, used a similar microscope. The serial number is 71126.
