Description: Forty-nine diary entries written by Venetia Cox in ink on 98 unnumbered, lined pages of notebook paper. The diary entries describe her experiences living and traveling in Japan, Vietnam, and China between 1939 and 1940. An October 26, 1940 diary entry (p. 48) describes the difficulties involved in trying to hold classes during the Sino-Japanese War in China. A November 26, 1939 diary entry (p. 48) describes the missionary school buildings, meager accommodations (due to effects of the Sino-Japanese War) and her teaching load in Chennan, China.
