Description: Dermatologic stereoview card. Front of card depicts male patient whose face and torso are covered with Variola rash lesions. The rash is more concentrated in the facial region. The reverse of the cards describes the condition including diagnosis and treatment. Variola is indicated to be a contagious fever whose incubation period is approximately 14 days to the outcrop of the rash. The card notes, 'one of the most important characteristics of the small-pox eruption is its distribution. The rash develops from above, downwards.' There is no specific treatment, though vaccines exist to protect against infection. Variola may also be known Small-Pox.
