The reverse of the card describes the condition as well as diagnosis and treatment options. Trichophytosis Unguium is described as a condition of ringworm affecting the area of the fingernails. The disease spreads slowly across the nail and in time the whole nail may become deformed and thick in appearance. Treatment includes scraping thin the thick growth and applying iodine which inhibits fungus development. Trichophytosis Unguium may also be known as Onychomycosis trichophytina, Tinea trichophytina unguium, or Ringworm of the nails.
