Description: Dermatologic stereoview card. Front of card shows a view of a man’s head with nose ulceration due to Syphilis Tertiaria. The reverse of the card describes the dermatologic conditions as well as the diagnosis and treatment. Syphilitic ulceration of the nose is not an uncommon late tertiary manifestation. It is the sequel of either diffuse or circumscribed gummatous infiltration, though the latter, that is distinct gummatous tumor, is much rarer than the former. It is unusual to see either lesion before ulceration has occurred, probably because being painless and starting frequently on the inner wall of the nasal cavity the process does not attract attention until ulceration supervenes. This category of Syphilis Tertiaria is known as Syphilis ulcerosa nasi.
