Title: Syphilis Secundaria
Identifier: LL02.49.00.99 (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/21205)
Description: Dermatologic stereoview card. Front of card shows a person's back with Syphilis Secundaria. The reverse of the card describes the dermatologic conditions as well as the diagnosis and treatment. The general pustular syphilid is of much less common occurrence than the popular, and is observed most often in poorly nourished, debilitated or anemic individuals, usually in the first three to eight months of the disease. Like the popular rash it may be the first recognized cutaneous manifestation; more often it follows or develops from prior papular eruption. Pustules do not necessarily arise from papules, they may originate as pustules. This form of Syphilis Secundaria is known as Syphilis pustulosa.
