Syphilis Secundaria
Title: Syphilis Secundaria
Identifier: LL02.49.00.92   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/21198)
Description: Dermatologic stereoview card. Front of card shows external male genitalia with Syphilis secundaria. The reverse of the card describes the dermatologic conditions as well as the diagnosis and treatment. In moist warm regions, especially where the skin is subjected to more or less friction, that is where there are opposed surfaces as about the genitals and anus beneath pendulous breasts, syphilitic papules usually become macerated, softened and abraded. This excretion is rich in spirochetes and therefore highly infectious. Syphilis Secundaria may also be known as Syphilis papulosa (Condylomata lata).
