Prurigo
Title: Prurigo
Identifier: LL02.49.00.69   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/21175)
Description: Dermatologic stereoview card. Front of card shows a man's nude front view from his stomach to the top of his foot with Prurigo. The reverse of the card describes the dermatologic conditions as well as the diagnosis and treatment. Prurigo is a chronic disease which begins in early childhood and is characterized by an intensely itching rash consisting of numerous discrete pin head sized, slightly elevated, pink, yellowish white or flesh colored papules that are located chiefly upon the exterior surface of the extremities and increase in abundance from above downwards. Prurigo makes its appearance usually in the eighth to twelfth month, occasionally in the second year of life, but the early lesions are not those distinctive of the fully developed disease.
