Description: Late 19th century photograph done by the Engle & Lund studio of Allen Halstead Taft, Jr. and his wife, Mary Alice Hoover Taft. Back of photograph lists the year as 1896 and the photo's subjects as "Granddaddy and Grandmother". The Taft and Hoover families were well-established in Pitt County, North Carolina.
