Description: The front of the card depicts a mother looking at her children play in the sand at a beach; while people downhill swim and wade in the ocean. Directly under the Vaseline, Chesebrough Manuf. Co. stamp in the upper right corner there is a ship sailing. At the very bottom is tiny print is "Wemple & Company, New York". The reverse of the card gives a story of “The Elixir Vitae” a legendary potion that grants eternal life and youth. Vaseline, life’s great Elixir, has the same properties and nothing on earth can equal. The card endorses six different Vaseline products all for different treatments: Pure Vaseline for medicinal use, Pomade Vaseline for the hair, Vaseline Cold Cream for the skin, Vaseline Camphor Ice for chapped skin, Vaseline Toilet Soap, and Vaseline Confections for coughs. The price of these products varied from 15 cents to 50 cents and could be used in any situation.
