Parker's Tonic
Title: Parker's Tonic
Identifier: LL02.12.01.42.05   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/20682)
Description: The front of this card depicts a lovely young woman wearing a cream-colored dress with matching bonnet and holding a small spray of pinkish flowers. The heading reads "Rescued from a bed of suffering, Parker's Tonic brings the bloom of health to the cheek and health to the heart". The reverse of the card states that "Parker's Hair Balsam is an elegant dressing much preferred to all similar articles on account of its exquisite perfume and superior cleanliness and purity. Containing only such ingredients as are beneficial to the scalp the Balsam never fails to restore the youthful color and beauty to gray hair. Also if you are miserable from dyspepsia, neuralgia, sour stomach, wakefulness, rising of the food or yellow skin; if your blood is foul with humors and you have frequent pain in your head, back or limbs, your skin, stomach or liver is diseased, and there is no medicine on earth that will strengthen these debilitated organs as surely as Parker's Tonic. It will purify your blood, infuse energy into every part of your body and is a perfect and superlative health restorative. In curing coughs, consumption, asthma, colds, and bronchitis, Parker's Tonic has met with astonishing success. It is a sure cure for indigestion, diarrhea, dysentery, rheumatism, chills, malaria, colic and cramps and has often saved lives." Presented by Hiscox and Co. (New York).
