Washing machine
Title: Washing machine
Identifier: Tobacco Farm Life Museum   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/13960)
Description: The clothes washer seen here is an example of one of the earliest mechanized washers in the country. Used in the interim period between washboards and the advent of the electric washing machine, this 1907 Iowa Washing Machine Company washing machine is made of wood and metal and uses a handle and foot peddle to agitate clothes that lie in water in the wash basin. The accompanying video includes a demonstration showing how the washer was used.
