Description: White cotton knitted coverlet (LOA 96" WOA 84"). Features a pattern of diamond-shaped squares alternating ribbed line squares with tufted rows of leaves. From Robinson Plantation, Warren County, NC and made during the first quarter of the 19th century. The history of the coverlet, contton's importance during the time period, and the presence of cotton as a crop at the Hope Plantation are all briefly discussed in the video.
