Description: Interview with East Carolina College alumna and retired teacher Mary Rose Stocks. Dr. Stocks discusses early years on a large farm in Duplin County, where she attended B.F. Grady School, and was the first in her family and one of the few in her community to attend college. She discusses her college experiences, including classes and professors, dorm life, campus buildings, and having a car on campus. She also discusses neighbors she had while living with her husband and family near the ECU campus, teaching jobs in Chicod and in Greenville, and working with student teachers at the training school.
