Description: Commander Trumbull, a Connecticut native, recounts his experiences during World War II aboard the USS LOUISVILLE, USS GROWLER, and the USS CABEZON; his postwar duties on the USS TUSK and USS CHIVO; his assignment to Naval Intelligence School, deployment to the Panama Canal Zone, and years spent as U.S. Naval Attache; at Hong Kong; and his years as executive officer of the Naval station at Bermuda. A major portion of the interview concerns Commander Trumbull's post-naval career with low-frequency sound studies, the establishment of hydrophonic stations in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, and related oceanographic endeavors.
