Map (1597) of the East Coast of North America, by Cornelius Wytfliet, extending from the Outer Banks of North Carolina to Cape Breton (21- 41. North Latitude; 287- 308 West Longitude) excised from Descriptionis Ptolemaeici augmentum, the first atlas of America. 9 x 11.25 x .125. Matted. Hand colored. Watermark is present, but the animal depicted is unclear.

Reminiscences (1999) of Capt. Walter P. Murphy, Jr. (US Navy ret.) a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1941, of his service (1941-1944) as a junior naval officer during World War II, including among other topics the incident of the submarine USS Sailfish sinking the Japanese carrier Chuyo.

Florida et Regiones Vicinae is a map of Florida attributed to cartographer Joannes De Laet and produced circa 1630 in Leiden, Netherlands. Hessel Gerritsz was probably the engraver. Joannes de Laet and Hessel Gerritsz were director and chief cartographer, respectively, of the Dutch West Indies Company. This map has been hand-colored.

Isabel Sue Nelson was born on January 30, 1914 in Littleton, North Carolina. She worked in Washington, North Carolina and the Office of Warren County, North Carolina Clerk of the Court. The Collection spans 1894-2008 and includes correspondences, photographs, and newspaper articles. The strength of the collection is documents relating to Littleton, North Carolina Female College Students.

Papers (1960-1962, 1986, undated) compiled by Doris M. Cromartie, during her service as vice chair of the executive committee of the Democratic Women of North Carolina, including correspondence, lists of workers, by-laws, newsletter, articles, and miscellaneous materials pertaining to Democratic Party activities in North Carolina.
