Photograph album documenting the travels (1951) of the USS Seiverling through stops in Pearl Harbor, Midway, Japan, and probably Hong Kong, participation in the Taiwan Strait Patrol, and bombardments near Songjin, North Korea. Photographs depict not only the activities of the sailors, but also activities of the local people. Also included are photographs of other U.S. Navy ships, and small boats carrying surrendering North Koreans.

Collection (1768, 1799, 1825-1865, 1887-1931, 1985) assembled by prominent Democratic politician, newspaper editor and historian Henry T. King (1861-1924) of Greenville, N.C. Included are the papers of Edward C. Yellowley (1821-1885), a Greenville, N.C., lawyer with particular emphasis on correspondence while he was serving as a Confederate officer in the Civil War; King's Weekly Newspapers (1895-1902); King's Sketches of Pitt County; and correspondence, speeches, verse, legal documents, clippings, broadsides, pamphlets, receipts, poetry, accounts, maps, and miscellany.

Papers (1821-1908, undated) including certificates, legal papers, letters, sale of personal property, disbursements by estate, teaching certificates, addresses, and statement of account (1881).

Items (1928-1941) related to Greenville, NC, resident James Howard Moye; and items (1955) related U.S. Coast Guard rescues in North Carolina. The Zion's Landmark Vol. 23, No. 7 and Vol. 32, No. 7 (10/15/1890 and 2/15/1899) periodical published semi-monthly by Zion's Landmark Print, Wilson, North Carolina (Primitive, or Old School Baptist) that was in the collection has since been transferred to the North Carolina Collection as of 2022.

Collection (1936, 1941-1942) consisting of a photograph album of the S.S. ZamZam, an Egyptian-owned ship, its crew and passengers, including 120 American missionaries (from 21 different denominations), tobacco buyers and other passengers traveling from New York to Alexandria, Egypt, via Capetown, South Africa, who survived sinking by the German raider Tamesis 17 April 1941, including newspaper and magazine clippings, photographs, periodicals, correspondence, and photocopies of an autobiographical account.

Collection (1862-1994) containing correspondence, service records, photographic prints, newspapers, newsletters and clippings, scrapbook, publications, pamphlets and other miscellaneous papers relating to the American Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I and World War II; also relating to the U.S. Navy, its ships, stations, and personnel; donated by various individuals to the U. Collection (1942 – 2019, undated) of documents, programs, notes, correspondence, interviews, and photographic prints documenting the history and membership of the U. S. Navy B-1 Band, the first All-African American band to serve in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Material includes historical and biographical sketches of the band and ites members, and photographs of the band, rosters, the music and lyrics, interviews, and documentation of race relations in North Carolina, the United States, and the United States military during the 20th century.
