This collection contains annual reports, meeting minutes, self-studies, and correspondence related to the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures.
Material (1898-1948) including legal correspondence and summons, tax receipts, accounts ledger, deeds, contracts and life insurance policies related to the real estate business of Gaston Watson (1865-1933) and his wife Fannie Morris Watson (1884-1965) of Wilson, North Carolina. Also included are photographs related to the family; WWII pay records and photographs related to son William Kirby Watson (1919-1993); and an 1854 copy of "Zion's Hymns" compiled for use in Original Free-Will Baptist Churches of North Carolina.
William and Harry Whittaker were brothers who both served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. William mainly served in West Germany while Harry was sent to Vietnam in 1967. Their letters to each other cover the years 1964 to 1968 and discuss both basic training in Fort Dix, New Jersey, and Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and their service in West Germany and Vietnam. Also included are numerous photographs taken by Harry while he was stationed in Vietnam.

This collection contains material related to the Naval service of William Laedlein Wentz (November 25, 1925-April 8, 2014). Included are his Naval records such as correspondence, orders, and inventory forms plus a couple of items related to visits to Korea and China, and Historical Notes for Personnel of the Naval Operating Base at Saipan on Navy Day (October 27, 1946), and reproductions of the December 7, 1941, issue or Honolulu Star-Bulletin 2nd Extra and the December 8, 1941 issue of the Honolulu Advertiser.
Interview with Roy H. Lake (1923-2018), a member of the U.S. Navy B-1 Band, the first all-African American Band in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Items (1928-1941) related to Greenville, NC, resident James Howard Moye; and items (1955) related U.S. Coast Guard rescues in North Carolina. The Zion's Landmark Vol. 23, No. 7 and Vol. 32, No. 7 (10/15/1890 and 2/15/1899) periodical published semi-monthly by Zion's Landmark Print, Wilson, North Carolina (Primitive, or Old School Baptist) that was in the collection has since been transferred to the North Carolina Collection as of 2022.
