This collection (1962-1998) includes scrapbooks documenting activities (1986-1989) of the Junior Confederacy Chapter No. 775 (Wilson) of the Children of the Confederacy, activities (1962-1963, 1970-1971, 1988-1991) of the John W. Dunham Chapter No. 374 (Wilson) of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and activities (1989-1991) of the Junior Confederacy Chapter No. 66 (Wilson) of the Children of the Confederacy. Also included are some loose publications (1962-1998) such as yearbooks, convention programs, and minutes.

Collection includes a photograph album kept by three men as they travelled from Ohio to Warren County, North Carolina, (November 16-30, 1917) as they accompanied a train car load of cattle. Included are images of trains, train bridges, the farm ("plantation") belonging to N. A. Connell at Norlina and Warren Plains, North Carolina, Connell family members, farm equipment, and the process of cotton production (being picked, cotton gin, spinning cotton).

Papers (1942-1972) of a U.S. Navy officer, including original memos, reports, newsletters, photographs, a certificate; and photocopies of war patrol reports and maps for the USS Flying Fish, during World War II.

Records (1913-1931) including correspondence, financial records, clippings and photographs.

The collection includes photographs, correspondence, booklets, and other mixed materials from Dr. Andrew Best's military service, medical career, civic work, and personal life.

Glenn Charles Ames, born 29 March 1913 in Wisconsin, served the US Military from 1935-1975, primarily in the National Guard. The Glenn C. Ames collection spans the years 1927-1986 and consists of 598 items, including manuscripts, printed materials, and photographic prints relating primarily to his service in the 41st Infantry Division, United States Army, during World War II. The collection also documents his service as commanding general of the California National Guard, 1967-1975.

Records (1944-1983), of naval officer, member of USNA class of 1941, who later worked with Lockheed Air and Missile Corporation including correspondence, notes, scientific and technical reports, articles, rosters, and miscellany.

Correspondence (1861-1864) of Edgecombe County, N.C., soldier in Company F of the 30th Regiment of North Carolina Troops stationed in various locations in Virginia. All of his letters are addressed to his future wife, Miss Elizabeth S. Ward of Rocky Mount Depot, N.C. Two other letters are from North Carolina soldiers related to Miss Ward.

This collection contains items that document community college administrator Jerome Worsley's life as a student at East Carolina Teachers College (now ECU) in the mid-1940s and as a member of the U.S. Army (1951-1953). Included are photographs, clippings and a certificate related to Mr. Worsley's participation in the Chi Pi Players at East Carolina Teachers College; photographs, documents, passport, dog tag, patches, and insignia concerning his service as office manager in Paris, France, for SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) under the command of General Dwight D. Eisenhower. SHAPE is the military unit of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).

Correspondence (1868-1869), written from Japan by fellow U.S. naval officers Samuel P. Carter and Earl English.

Diary (Sept. 1943-Dec. 1944) of Joseph John Valinsky, a sailor aboard the USS Monterey, kept during World War II duty in the Pacific, along with correspondence, certificates, and military service identification cards.

The collection includes correspondence and some photographic material documenting the service of Richard Lewis Kinney (1927-2015) of Lexington, North Carolina in the United States Army in occupied Japan at the end of World War II. The collection provides a glimpse of an American soldier's point of view and experience serving overseas during the post-war occupation of Japan.

This collection contains annual reports, self studies, faculty meeting minutes, unit code of operations, announcements, brochures, publications, programs, and audiovisual materials from the School of Theatre and Dance.
