This collection contains about 363 cubic feet of material documenting the Congressional career of Lunsford Richardson Preyer. Mr. Preyer (January 11, 1919-April 3, 2001) of Greensboro, North Carolina, served in the U.S. House of Representatives for twelve years (January 1969-January 1981).

This collection consists of the family records, photographs, and genealogy records collected by Sarah Westray Bunn of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She was an East Carolina Teachers' College 1936 graduate and served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1941 to 1966. Included are genealogy notes concerning the Lewis, Suggs, Speight, Powell, Harrison, and Exum families of Eastern N.C.; late 19th century and 20th Century photographs; correspondence (1905-1998); an 1847 book of children's poetry; clippings; genealogy charts; and a tombstone rubbing.

Papers (1806-1906) including correspondence, financial papers, journals, notebooks, legal papers and business documents relating to Timothy Hunter (1804-1875), a prominent Pasquotank County, N.C., shipbuilder and mariner.

Papers (1895-1921) including correspondence, clippings, diary, invitations, statements, reports, genealogy, etc. relating to a prominent businessman who became mayor (1901-1905) of Greensboro (NC) and commissioner of internal revenue (1914-1917).

Papers (1729-1908) including correspondence, newspaper clippings, a will, church documents, a photographs, and miscellany.

This collection contains annual reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, and self-studies of the Department of Sociology.

Papers (1890-1914, 1948, 1982) including correspondence, organizational publications, newspaper clippings, advertisements, blueprints, a contract, and miscellany.

Papers (1911-1968, undated) include correspondence, writings, legal and financial papers, news clippings, a photograph and miscellaneous documents related to the career of Harry V. Bernard, Sr., who was an American businessman in China beginning in 1911. The documents also reflect his work with flood relief in the Shanghai District of China in the 1930s and his internment by the Japanese in a prison camp near Shanghai during World War II.

Records (ca. 1920-2007, n.d.) of the Lenoir County Historical Association include correspondence, minutes, financial records, membership records, building plans for Harmony Hall, museum artifact records, newspaper clippings, publications, photographs, calendars, and subject files.

Collection (1955-1969) of minutes, agendas, notes, correspondence, reports, and newsletters related to the donor's activities as a board member of the Housing Authority of Greenville, North Carolina, and supporter of public housing.

Collection (1938-1993) including correspondence, specifications, biographical information, reminiscences, and photographs.

Papers (1801-1883) including photocopies, published article, typed copy of diary, incidents of Civil war, Carlton's views on Reconstruction period, description of execution of will in 1863-1866, music, styles of dress etc.

The collection includes publications created by the ECU School of Medicine and the University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Copy of The Greatest Anti-Submarine Action of All wars (an account of the World War II action of the USS George (DE-697) and copies of supporting documents, including the USS George war diary for May 1944.
