Papers (1897-1972, undated) of a U. S. Naval officer, a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, 1905, who commanded the destroyer USS JARVIS during World War I, and as ordnance inspector at the U. S. Naval Ammunition Depot during World War II, consisting of correspondence, a war diary, orders, proceedings, reports, thesis, albums, photographs, postal cards, financial records, citations, certificates, biographies and miscellaneous.

This collection contains annual reports, meeting minutes, publications, and self-studies related to the Department of Biology.

The Victor Lasky Collection consists of correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, and printed materials documenting mid twentieth century anti communism and related political discourse in the United States. The materials appear to have been compiled by Victor Lasky in connection with his editorial work on The American Legion Reader (1953), and reflect contemporary debates surrounding national security, foreign policy, and ideological conflict during the early Cold War period. The collection includes items transmitted to Miss France G. Knight, then Director of the Passport Office within the Bureau of Security and Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. Together, these materials provide insight into the circulation of anti communist thought among journalists and government officials, as well as the broader cultural and political climate of the era.

In 1972, Evelyn McNeill was offered a position as an assistant professor of anatomy at East Carolina University School of Medicine (renamed Brody School of Medicine in 1999). She was hired to teach neuroanatomy to medical students as well as physical and occupational therapy students. During her career at the medical school (1972-2001), Evelyn opened her home to students. She began traditions of hosting an end-of-first-year party and another for Halloween. Included in this collection are personal photographs from these parties, historical photographs of the growth and development of the school of medicine, newspaper clippings of medical student announcements, and medical school class photos and rosters during the period of 1972 to 2004.

Thirty items (ca. 1959-1971), consisting of photographic prints with captions, one note, and one newspaper clipping, concerning the launch and retirement of the NS SAVANNAH which was the first nuclear powered merchant vessel.
