In this oral history Phillip Dixon, Sr. talks about his childhood, time as a student and Student Government Association Vice President at East Carolina University, service on the the UNC Board of Governors and ECU Board of Trustees, legal career, and family life.

The collection has personal papers, photographs, awards, and letters from Luther K. Edwards Sr. and L. Kenneth Edwards Jr. The letters are primarily from Kenneth's Louisburg College days between 1933 and 1934. Additionally, the collection has advertisements, licenses, pharmacy regulations, and a day book from the Stantonsburg Drug Company, which was owned and operated by Luther and Kenneth Edwards.

This collection spans W. Keats Sparrow's career at ECU, being comprised of materials from projects to which he contributed, in his roles as English professor, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, and president of Phi Kappa Phi.

The Robin Brabham Collection (1862-1866, 1976, undated) consists of materials from several Civil War soldiers adn civilians, including documents relating to Thomas Midgett of Croatan, North Carolina, containing an oath, a parole and safe conduct documents issued by a Union Army officer, in 1862-1864; also documents, 1863-1866, related to several Union Army soldiers, including records of Major N. H. Foster of 1st Battalion, 12th U.S. Colored Heavy Artillery; Lt. Col. H. A. Oakman of 30th Regiment U.S. Colored Troops and; also certificates of discharge by reason of death for members of Co. A., 2nd Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Artillery.

This collection contains a selection of seventy-two poems entitled Diary of a Downtown Cat that is a portion of his collection titled "Eccentric City." Mr. Kimber is a native of Greenville, North Carolina, now residing in Durham, N.C. The selection is divided into eight sections and Section I, titled "Migration from Mars to Downtown," relates to his experience growing up in the Shore Drive community in downtown Greenville. Those poems were written in the 1980s. Kimber, born in 1950, lived in this community until 1965 at which time the buildings in this community were beginning to be demolished as part of the Urban Renewal Plan and the location is now the Town Common on the Tar River.

Papers of Stuart Wright (1783-2020, [Bulk: 1945-2014], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Roxboro, North Carolina-born American educator, chiropodist, author, translator, bibliographer, editor, historian, publisher, musician and collector, vendor and donor of literary and musical manuscripts and published materials; consisting of correspondence, holograph and typescript manuscripts of published materials, clippings, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection; also original art, audio recordings, proofs and advance review copies of published works, photographic materials and oversized materials; including materials in English, French, German, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Papers (1922-[1937]1954, undated) including business and personal correspondence, financial papers, photographs, and miscellaneous material.

This collection contains tuition checks and receipts, a letter to East Carolina Teachers College Lady Principal Martha Armstrong concerning restrictions on visitors, an article about the founding of East Carolina Teachers Training School, and letters about the materials in the collection.
