This collection contains the administrative records for the East Carolina College of Education. Record types include annual reports, other reports, committee minutes, self studies, publications and brochures, and audiovisual materials.

This collection (ca. 1909-2002) contains documents related to the career of David Jordan Whichard II of Greenville, N.C., longtime editor of The Daily Reflector and president and chief executive officer of the newspaper's publishing firm. Whichard also served on many professional boards such as the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association, the N.C. Press Association, the Associated Press Board of Directors, the UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Trustees, the ECU Board of Trustees, the UNC System Board of Governors, and on the board for Wachovia Corporation. All of these activities plus other business-related and civic-related activities are reflected in the correspondence, minutes, reports, publications, financial records, and clippings in this collection.

Papers (1795, 1827, 1856-1956) including correspondence, financial papers, copies, genealogical notes, a will, a salutatory address, brief essay, Civil War events, etc.

This collection contains sixty-five letters (1846-1847) the majority of which were written by wholesale merchant Samuel Kissam of Plymouth, North Carolina, to his brother George Kissam, also a merchant, of New York City, New York, discussing mostly business matters. Also included are a couple of letters written by a ship's master at New Orleans, Louisiana, to Samuel Kissam concerning a maritime mishap.

Collection (1983-1999) concerning organization founded to oppose Iowa Beef Producers pork processing plant, Kingsboro, Edgecombe County, NC.
