Collection (1848-1931) of Johnston County (NC) family including journal, will, deeds, letter, certificates, etc.

The largest portion (1911-1947) of this collection (1837-1993) contains correspondence, photographs, publications and ephemera related to the extensive charitable interests of Mary Estelle Crawford Fry, her husband James Woods Fry and son Gilbert Crawford Fry, all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The charities include the Bethel Mission operating out of Hong Kong at the time of this correspondence (1938) due to war in China, the San Miao Orphanage in Saratsi (Suiyuan Province) of Northern China [later became part of Nei (Inner) Mongolia], the China International Famine Relief Commission, missions dealing with French and Belgian orphans of WWI, and the International Students' House conducted by the Christian Assoc. of the University of Pennsylvania. Earlier correspondence (1837-1869), unrelated to the above mentioned charities, is mainly written between Mrs. Mary M. Crawford of Boston, MA, Mrs. Addie A. Stien of Norristown, PA, and Sower family members in Boston and Norristown. Also included are family photographs and family history information related to the Chitty, Stroup (Strup, Strupe, Strub), and Ruede families of Forsyth Co., NC.

Papers of Ellen D. Wilbur (1983-1992 [Bulk: 1984]) documenting the life and literary career of the American short story writer and editor, who is the daughter of American poet laureate, Richard Wilbur; including manuscript correspondence, typescripts, unbound proofs, bound proofs, and loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, primarily concerning publication of her short story collection Wind and Birds and Human Voices,(1984) published by Stuart Wright.

Collection contains a newspaper clipping (6/10/1923) entitled "Christian Church Growth in 20 Years Proud Record, Dedication Services Sunday" from the Greenville, North Carolina, Daily Reflector.

Papers (1807-1937) including correspondence, deeds, chattel mortgages, warranty mortgages, legal records, accounts, a surveyor's map, and a photograph related to the Credle and related families of Hyde County, North Carolina.

Collection of physical material documenting the organization Women for Women of Pitt County, North Carolina (2005 2024). The collection includes newsletters, promotional materials, photographs, and organizational documents, such as member records and bylaws.

This collection contains documents (1821-1994, bulk 1860s-1910s) related to the Newsom family, especially Marion Eaton Newsom, of Littleton, Warren and Halifax Counties, North Carolina. Included are correspondence, land records, legal records, financial papers, and a family history written by Marion E. Newsom (1909, addendum 1911) about the Newsom and Nicholson families. Some material also relates to the Whitaker and Heptinstall families. A large part of this collection also documents the history of Littleton and institutions there such as schools, churches, and Littleton Female College.

Papers (ca. 1857-1962) of the Barnhill and Roebuck families of Robersonville, Martin County, N.C., including correspondence and scrapbooks related to school life at Davenport College in Lenoir, N.C., and St. Mary's School in Raleigh, N.C., and Fairfax Hall in Basic, Va., in the 1910s and 1920s, and college life (1929-1930) at East Carolina Teachers' College (now East Carolina University) in Greenville, N.C. Also included are financial records and land records (especially for the Roebuck family for the 1870s through the 1920s), photographs and ECTC annuals.

This collection (1850-1988) includes records pertaining to Whitaker's Chapel, a Methodist Church near Enfield in Northeastern North Carolina, and minutes (1848-1939) of the Methodist Protestant Church's Roanoke Circuit to which it belonged.
