Papers of Aaron Copland (1943-2005 [Bulk: 1971-1997]) documenting the life and musical career of the iconic Brooklyn, New York-born American composer, consisting of correspondence between Stuart Wright and Copland and others relating to Copland, 1977-1997; also loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to Aaron Copland; photographic prints; original art; brochures, pamphlets and periodicals relating to Aaron Copland; in English, French & Spanish language.

The bulk of this donation is photographs relating to the Hertford County, North Carolina, Crawford and Riddick family ancestors of William Crawford Woods. He was the son of Louise Russell Crawford and Arthur R. Woods, Jr. and the grandson of Kate Wallace Riddick and Louis Russell Crawford. The Wallace side of the family is from Norfolk County, Virginia. Additionally, there are personal items, including correspondence, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, school notes, publications, and some legal records. The items included date back to the late 1800s up through the mid-1900s.

Thirty items (ca. 1959-1971), consisting of photographic prints with captions, one note, and one newspaper clipping, concerning the launch and retirement of the NS SAVANNAH which was the first nuclear powered merchant vessel.

This record group contains audiorecordings of compositions by Gregory Kosteck and his wife Nancy.

Ammons (1954-1993, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Whiteville, North Carolina-born American poet and creative writing educator at Cornell University; consisting of correspondence, proofs of published material, printed materials and oversized materials; also including loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to Stuart Wright's research on A. R. Ammons.

Papers of William Faulkner (1948-1990) documenting the life and literary career of the noted New Albany, Mississippi-born American novelist and short story writer who won the 1949 Nobel Prize for literature; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including a letter enclosing a printed copy of Faulkner's Nobel Prize acceptance speech and letters from Faulkner's biographer, Joseph Blotner; also a carbon typescript manuscript (ca. 1948) of a Faulkner short story entitled A Courtship.
