This collection contains materials about the W. Keats Sparrow Writing Award and Rhem-Schwarzmann Award given by Academic Library Services, budget reports, annual paraprofessional conference, changes to library operations in response to COVID-19, division newsletters, committee meeting minutes, publications, and photographs. This collection contains genealogy files compiled by Elizabeth (Betsy) Ross of Greenville, North Carolina, primarily related to families in Beaufort, Craven, Martin, and Pitt Counties, North Carolina. These files include individual family files containing family sheets and genealogy notes, plus abstracts of public records that she did from microfilm and the actual records, and notebooks of genealogy notes that include indexes to their information.

Papers (1911-1968, undated) include correspondence, writings, legal and financial papers, news clippings, a photograph and miscellaneous documents related to the career of Harry V. Bernard, Sr., who was an American businessman in China beginning in 1911. The documents also reflect his work with flood relief in the Shanghai District of China in the 1930s and his internment by the Japanese in a prison camp near Shanghai during World War II.

Papers (1843-1942; bulk 1843-1891) of Kinston, NC, attorney John Franklin Wooten and members of the Wooten, Harper and Moseley families of Lenoir Co., NC, and the Christian family of Virginia including correspondence, deeds, plats, financial records and miscellany.

Records (ca. 1920-2007, n.d.) of the Lenoir County Historical Association include correspondence, minutes, financial records, membership records, building plans for Harmony Hall, museum artifact records, newspaper clippings, publications, photographs, calendars, and subject files.

This collection includes 13 pieces of correspondence addressed to Mathias Embry of Vincennes, Indiana during the years 1863-1864. The bulk of the collection was written by or about John Posey (1842?-1864) and Charles Newton (1843?-1864), both Black soldiers who served in the 55th Massachusetts Volunteer Regiment. The letters provide a glimpse of the experience and motivation of Black soldiers serving during the Civil War and the effect of the war on both the enlisted and non-combatants.

This collection spans W. Keats Sparrow's career at ECU, being comprised of materials from projects to which he contributed, in his roles as English professor, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, and president of Phi Kappa Phi.
