Collection (1768, 1799, 1825-1865, 1887-1931, 1985) assembled by prominent Democratic politician, newspaper editor and historian Henry T. King (1861-1924) of Greenville, N.C. Included are the papers of Edward C. Yellowley (1821-1885), a Greenville, N.C., lawyer with particular emphasis on correspondence while he was serving as a Confederate officer in the Civil War; King's Weekly Newspapers (1895-1902); King's Sketches of Pitt County; and correspondence, speeches, verse, legal documents, clippings, broadsides, pamphlets, receipts, poetry, accounts, maps, and miscellany.

Collection (1899-1957 [Bulk: 1899-1954]) of diaries by Rev. J.G. Cassel, a Brethren of Christ missionary in Guatemala, 1899-1957; also an untitled history of missionary work in Guatemala by William Haymaker, written in 1947, describing his missionary career, 1887-1947. 8 vols. The Ormond Family Papers (ca. 1770-1925) include correspondence, land grants, financial records, school notes taken at Trinity College, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and photographs pertaining to the Ormond and Turnage families of Dobbs, Greene and Pitt Counties, North Carolina. Considerable material pertains to State Senator Yancey T. Ormond of Greene County.

Papers (1941-1970) of member of U. S. Naval Academy Class of 1941, including correspondence, orders, citations, an informal log of his naval service, 1941-1947, a photographs, and miscellany relating to his service aboard the destroyers USS LEA and the USS WADSWORTH during World War II and his postwar naval career.

The Il Maryland, Il Jersey Meridionale, la Delaware, e la parte orientale della Virginia, e Carolina Settentrionale Map was drawn by Antonio Zatta in 1778 and was issued as part of his Atlante Novissimo publication. It documents the Southern British Colonies in what became the United States of America. It was based upon the work of John Mitchell and is one of the sections of the Italian edition of Mitchell's Map of North America. Contains three cresent moon watermarks on right side and unknown watermark deisgn on left side. Note: Second copy of map in #421.M.4

The WVOT (Radio Station: Wilson, N.C.) Collection is a scrapbook (1947-1948) containing identified photographs and newspaper clippings documenting the organization and early development of a private radio station in Wilson, N.C. At the time, Wilson was well-known for its tobacco warehouses. The photographs depict the station's founders and special events involving the radio station as well as views of Wilson and its tobacco warehouses and business district.

Papers (1845-1937) of Pasquotank County, N.C. farming and mercantile family, including correspondence, legal papers, financial records, account books, ledgers, a map, cost of advertisements, business cards, etc. Also glass negatives of Hollowell family members, house exterior, room interiors, logging scenes, beach scenes, Nags Head hotel, and an 1899 classroom cadaver dissection scene.

Personal files (1939-1989), related to Leo Warren Jenkins outside of his positions at East Carolina University (and when it was called East Carolina College), including correspondence, clippings, reports, a manuscript, photographs, ephemera, programs, and U.S. Marine Corps documents and WWII service medals.

The William Cobb Whitfield Papers consists of a class notebook, ephemera found in books belonging to Whitfield, and various other papers ranging from 1873 to 1936. Additionally, notes from a conversation between Miles J. Smith, donor of collection and great-nephew of Whitfield, and Ruth Moskop, from History Collections at Laupus Library.

This collection documents the history of Winterville, North Carolina, and its citizens through material including programs for the 1986 and 1987 Winterville Watermelon Festivals, a booklet (2011) documenting the first fifty years of the Winterville Kiwanis Club, and newsletters from the Winterville Chamber of Commerce (2017) and the Winterville Historical and Arts Society, Inc. (2016-2017).

Collection [1636-1798] including newspaper and magazine clippings, relating to racial integration and race relations; files of a professional genealogist concerning North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland families.

This collection (1791-1960) documents the horse and mule business, farm operations, land transactions, saw mill operation, and other business enterprises of Edward Cyrus Winslow (b. 1886) of Tarboro, Edgecombe County, N.C. Included in the collection are correspondence, financial and legal records such as account books, ledgers, bills and receipts, contracts with other mule dealers, promissory notes, agricultural liens and chattel mortgages, deeds, and lease and rental agreements. Also included are superior court records, blueprints of farm tracts and dairy equipment, printed material, business and family photographs, and a small quantity of family correspondence.
