Collection (1799-1897, 1913) including correspondence, 1835-1897, 1913, and financial records, 1799-1894, of New Bern, NC merchant, whose store was used by Union troops, and who was appointed "Superintendent of Poor Whites" for Craven County, NC.

This collection contains literary and personal papers of Dr. Peter L. Makuck, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the English Department, East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina, where he taught from 1978 to 2006. Included are correspondence, lecture and teaching notes, and drafts of poems and short stories. A large portion of this collection pertains to the publication Tar River Poetry from its founding in 1978 by Dr. Makuck, as a publication of the English Department at ECU, until 2015. Included are correspondence and all but one of the issues.

William B. Jarvis papers (ca. 1822 - 1919, undated) including family bible records, clippings, genealogical notes, photographs, cipher book, and a periodical relating to the Jarvis, Brooks, Monk, Parker, and Wallace families, Memorial Baptist Church (Greenville, NC), and the Monumental Bronze Company.

This collection (1943-2004) concerning First Baptist Church in New Bern, North Carolina, contains programs for special occasions such as dedication services, memorial services, and founders day services. Also included are images of the church, a photograph, and articles giving historical information about the church and its pastors.

The Insurance Survey of Greenville collection contains a letter (December 31, 1937) and an insurance survey (December 27, 1937) of the city of Greenville, North Carolina.

Papers (1911-1968, undated) include correspondence, writings, legal and financial papers, news clippings, a photograph and miscellaneous documents related to the career of Harry V. Bernard, Sr., who was an American businessman in China beginning in 1911. The documents also reflect his work with flood relief in the Shanghai District of China in the 1930s and his internment by the Japanese in a prison camp near Shanghai during World War II.

Papers (1833-1986) compiled by Elizabeth "Bessie" Hampton Wade Wooten, the wife of noted Greenville, NC, Democratic Party political leader Frank M. Wooten, Sr. Materials include correspondence, clippings, ephemera, financial records, maps, newspapers, photographic prints, photograph album, printed materials and scrapbook materials related to her education, friends, family, travels, and social interests.

Photograph album documents missionaries from Cass Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church of Detroit (Michigan) in China (ca. 1900-1917). Photographs depicting local life and scenery such as street scenes, a Peng (tent cart), street vendors, Chinese Theatre scene, temples, Boxer ruins used as a boarding school and teachers and their students, are accompanied by ephemera such as programs, memorials and prospectuses.
